Dillon Reservoir is a man-made reservoir located in Summit County, Colorado. The reservoir was created in 1963 when Denver Water built the Dillon Dam on the Blue River. The reservoir spans more than 3,233 acres and has a capacity to hold over 254,000 acre-feet of water.
Dillon Reservoir serves as a water source for Denver Water and also provides recreational opportunities for local residents and visitors. The reservoir is a popular spot for fishing, boating, and water sports, and features several boat ramps and marinas for easy access to the water.
The area around Dillon Reservoir also offers several hiking and biking trails, as well as camping and other outdoor activities. The Dillon Reservoir Recreation Area is managed by the U.S. Forest Service and offers camping, picnicking, and other recreational opportunities along the reservoir's shores.
